Make Up Essentials for Beginners - Part 1 (FACE)

Hi Guys,

I started liking make ups a few months back and I really want to share what I have learned from beauty bloggers and beauty gurus on Youtube.

Here's my take for it and I just want to say that there might be a lot of products posted and I am just sharing what my favorite products are for each part of the face but that does not mean that a beginner should have all of these products at once. You can try the ones you think are essential to be used on your face. I am sharing drugstore products which makes it affordable, but it is still up to you which ones you want to try. These are the ones I can recommend that is affordable since that is how I started as well. :)

First, let's start off with Primers.

Primers what keeps the foundation and make up stay on your face longer. However, primers vary with different skin types. I have oily skin so what I have above is what I use for my skin type.

I have the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. Its Silicone base that provides a velvety smooth finish that helps minimize large visible pores but can also be used as a make up primer.

Next is Foundation/ BB / CC Creams,

If you are looking for a foundation that is light on the skin and will give you a better effect that evens out the skintone, covers redness and minor blemishes on the skin, leaving the skin looks smooth, glowy and healthy then this is the foundation I will highly recommend. However, due to the scorching weather that we have here in the sandpit I only use foundations occasionally, on certain events that requires me to wear make up longer than the usual.

I would highly suggest to use BB/CC Creams for everyday use, instead of foundations if you do not need to get full coverage since BB/CC creams are lighter when worn on the face.

BB Creams are lighter versions of foundations that provide more vitamins and benefits to the skin. It protects skin and at the same time provides coverage too. I would recommend Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector and I am in the shade Medium.

Then, we proceed with the concealers. I am using two shades of concealers: One that is a shade lighter for my under-eye that works as a highlight and the other is the same shade to hide any  dark spots or blemishes.

I have these two: Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Sand for my under eye and LA Girl Pro Concealer in Pure Beige for my blemishes. Notice how overused my Maybelline Fit Me looks like. Its my HG at the moment.Ü

Then, we would also need a powder to set the foundation and concealer to avoid it from creasing especially for people who has oily skin like me. I am using Essence Mattifying Compact Powder in 10 Light Beige.

Next, is the a Bronzer that you can use for contouring or looking sun-kissed. I have Wet n Wild Color Icon Bronzer with SPF 15 in the shade E740 Bikini Contest, the darkest shade from this line. This is a extremely pigmented and it does not have shimmer (perfect for contouring!Ü).

Now, we move to Blushers. There are a lot of different types of blushes available and a lot of shades to choose from. I am sharing with you one pressed powder blush and one cream based blush.

I have Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in 150 Live Pink and Maybelline Dream Bouncy in 10 Pink Frosting (Please excuse how my Maybelline looks like, I was not careful when I first opened it, so it did a little damage to it). If you want something that's easy to apply, I would suggest a powder blush, but if you want something that looks more natural and dewy, go for the cream blush.

Then, we go to a highlighter. I only have a few and I'm feeling that I would want to get more soon. *wink, wink*I think this is one of the make up essentials that can change your beauty look. It gives someone a glowing look. making your skin looks moisturize so make sure to get something that gives you a sheen finish and not the ones that makes you look glittery or shiny. I have the L'oreal Lumi Magique Pearl Powder in 03 Rose Insolence.

This ends the essentials for the face make up.

Stay tuned for the second half for the eyes and lips make up starter kit.
